I took their photography package, but i know their offer catering, invitation, flowers, limos basically everything you can think about and the price ins’t that bad. If you decide to go with them speak with Robert, he is so helpful and can help you with all your arragements.

  Go for it. I think they’re romantic and beautiful, if that is what the couple wants. If someone really wants to be there, they will do whatever they can.

  Of course, I’ve seen them done. I don’t like them personally because the color choices seem to be limited. But if you like the whole “Winter Wonderland” look, that might not bother you. Your family/finance is right … sometimes people do not want to travel around the holidays. They may have to take off work, but they’ve saved up vacation time for the holiday and spending it with, maybe, kids who are out of school. That can be a stretch for some people whose jobs aren’t flexible, and they’re not willing to give up the time for someone’s wedding. It is also more expensive to travel during this time by air.

  For most people, it’s a really busy time in general, so it doens’t always fit schedules properly, but if you can pull it off, go for it.

  A friend of mine got married around Christmas and the one things she had to say was how much they saved on flowers at the church. It was already decorated for the holidays. Other than that, I don’t think she had any issues. If people can’t travel, it will only save you money. Like everyone else said, send out save the date cards and hope for the best. Your family will be there as long as they can afford to be. That is the most important part of it afterall.

  Not only are people hesitant to to travel during the holiday season but you also have to keep in mind the weather can be an issue. I don’t know your area but most areas freeze, causing an issue with with canceled flights and iced over roads.
• What is your opinion on winter/Christmas-time weddings?
  I like winter/holiday weddings. A lot. I’m bias because I had one.

  Some points that I agree on:

  1.) You may need to send out Save the Dates or your invites a bit earlier.

  2.) You do *typically* need a decent budget to do it right, or at the very least be the creative type if you are taking the DIY route. There are MANY options to make a winter/holiday wedding a blast. Some are cheap (serving gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate), to expensive (turning your venue into a winter wonderland, hiring a horse drawn sleigh, to having ornament favors). In all honesty, the possibilities are endless.

  3.) Yes, some people won’t come because of the holidays, and weather may be an issue depending on where you live. But here is my honest opinion on that. The fact is, a percentage of people won’t come to your wedding in ANY case. If you had your wedding in the summer, cousin Judy’s husband my be sick, or the Jones family will be on vacation at their cabin all week. You’re (virtually) never going to get 100% of people to RSVP yes, so don’t let that be your only determining factor.

  If you you want to have a winter/holiday wedding, go for it! They can be amazingly beautiful and fun (and fun to plan!)!

  Plus, there are less weddings than in the summer, so it can *potentially* (but not always) make it easier to secure rentals, order gowns, tuxes, etc. Some venues will give you a discount since it’s wedding ‘off season’. But don’t count on that, NONE of my vendors did.

  If you do decide to try and have your wedding closer to an actual holiday (I.e. Christmas), be sure to book out your venue early. They often fill up fast for those with the same idea, and holiday Christmas parties, etc.
