anywhere- havent you heard of alterations- by the way- you might look better at 105 lbs so try and gain some weight!

You can try to go to David’s Bridal.

  4. In the petite department at wal-mart.

Go to the bridal shop davids bridal, they are amazing at fitting your needs as a bride. they have everything tailor made for you at a decent cost. Please make sure to make an appoitment first though.

Don’t know where you are, but here in Australia the Op shops like St. VIncents and Salvation Army have beautiful ones, worn once, for under $100.

Start with heading down to a bridal shop. I would steer clear of David’s Bridal, but that’s just me. I’ve never had a good experience at any one of their locations.

Next find the dress that you LOVE. Don’t pay attention to details like the length and the fit on top–all of that can be altered. Bring your shoes with you so that you can figure out the length.

Once you find it, find a good tailor. If you can, try to bring the tailor with you before you purchase the dress to make sure that it can be taken in and hemmed up.

there’s this comapany on ebay that’s desperate to selll wedding gowns, really cheap too, all brand new. just type wedding dress in the search bar, and you’ll get tons!

  9. Wow..
well since you are petitte, try something slim that will give nice shape to ypur body, rather than a big puffy one.
For you the simple, tight (but not too tught) is better.
    .Good Luck :)

I find the best results (when looking for dresses) when I go to google.com, and search for a wedding dress in images

All you can do is go around to all the bridal shops in your area. Try on as many as you want….with your figure it should be easy. You’ll know when you put it on which one is THE ONE for you. Sounds silly, but it is true. I personally tried on about 30 gowns before I found mine…I knew the minute I saw it on me that it was the one for me. And it was a discontinued style on the clearance rack….another day I could have missed it!! Funny how life works. Good luck and congrats. Have fun with your search…take your Mom and your best friend.

  12. i actually love going to small towns and finding a little out-of-the-way gown shop. not only are they super-friendly but they usually have some unique dresses. no matter what size you are, you’ll need to get it altered because, as i’m sure you know, your wedding dress HAS to look PERFECT. :) congrats and good luck. :)

Most cities have bridal stores that would have or be able to order a gown in your size. You can also get catalogs or bridal magazines anywhere there is a large selection of magazines and order something from there. If you still can’t find a gown, you can make one yourself, or get your Mom or another friend or relative to help you make it. Some brides also find a taylor or seamstress to make them a bridal gown to their own specifications. Best wishes and above all, plan first for the marriage and secondarily for the wedding. May the marriage last must longer than the wedding.

Just remember to ask if the designer does petite before you start trying things on and fall in love with something. That was not a fun experience. For me, I looked online through theknot.com and picked out a bunch of pictures that had things that I liked. I had the one that I loved and then a bunch of examples of general details I was looking for, shape of the dress, style of sleeve, etc. I printed off about the top ten, with my favorite on top and took that to the stores with me. I was super excited when the last store of the day said they actually had the dress that was my favorite and they do whatever size you need (I’m petite too). Mine was a Jasmine Bridal dress from a store a smaller boutique that was super helpful.

Best wishes. Depending on your style.
A straight A line simple dress can be “made” for you with wonderful fabric by most dress makers for about $100 for the service and you purchase the fabric.

I had my dress custom made by a Professional Costumer in the off season from Houston Grand Opera, it is a baroque Italian Renaissance style with real pearls and crystals on it.

The fabric-(real silks) materials cost about $300, the jewels $200, the dress to make $250. It is a ONE OF A KIND and incredibly beautiful and can be altered to fit me again-”designed that way” for my “renewal ceremony” next year for our ten year anniversary. It is Dijon gold with ivory and dark gilded gold trim, I’m a porcelain white skin tone, petite stature, long red hair and all the “white” dresses I tried make me look just horrible. Ironically, The dress needs to be altered smaller, since I have lost so much weight, chasing after children the last five years. LOL

Best wishes dear. My very best advice is…..make it meaningful to you. I am practical and have reused my dress or pieces of it over and over. I can’t just let a dress sit. Mine has a life and I have worn it to Rennisance Festivals and it was featured in a magazine once. So its amazing what “thinking outside the wedding box” can do for you.

I am 5ft 3in and 106 lbs and my wedding gown was a size 8! Designer gowns especially, run very small in comparison to “regular” sizes. I am sure you will have no problem finding a gown to fit you. You will have to get it altered but that is normal. You will need 6 months to order a gown so I would start looking asap if you want to get married in less than a year. I would NOT go to David’s Bridal! There are plenty of boutiques that carry designers that are less expensive but still high quality with better customer service.

I know exactly what you mean! I’m not much bigger than you- 5′2″, 100 ibs. When I was engaged, I got my dress at Jessica McClintocks. I got a sheath dress, meaning it’s slim and slinky, as opposed to the big puffy skirt ballgown type. Stay away from those!! They can make tiny girls look like squat little mushrooms. A sheath is perfect if your slender and short, it elongates you and makes the most of your figure.

I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble finding a gown that’s close to your size. Wedding dresses tend to be sized smaller. When I go shopping at the mall, a size 0 is often too big for me. But my wedding dress was a 4! I’ve never worn a 4 in my life! And yes, they had smaller sizes than that, too.

To get an idea of what sheath dresses look like, go to http://www.theknot.com. Click on “gowns” and for “silhouette,” choose sheath. You’ll have to sign up for a knot account, but any bride to be should do that anyway. It’s a great free resource.

the range could be anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand. I was lucky, mine was less than $300. Jessica McClintock always has great prices though.

i know u want to have an idea before u go to the stores, i did too! I looked at heaps of differrent websites, looked at the prices, decided what colour i liked and what style would be good.
Then i went to the stores and realized thats the only way to really get an idea. The staff will pick out some dresses in styles you would never dream of but in fact will suit u great, its their job to make u pretty so thats the only way to find ur perfect gown.
Prices vary heaps everywhere so look at a few stores before deciding, many also have sales quite often so keep ur eyes open.
    Good luck
